The last of the legendary run of vintage-style Submariner case references, the 14060M began production around the turn of the millennium with a movement modified from that of the 14060 (hence the M denoting “modified”) which eventually received chronometer certification a few years later.
As already mentioned, this reference was the last to feature the smaller-profile oyster case design with drilled lugs before we saw a series of updates with solid lugs, “maxi cases” and more. it was also the last to feature an aluminium bezel insert.
This example, dating from the reference’s earlier years of production, features a very appealing “two-liner” dial owing to the fact the 3130 movement didn’t officially become recognised with its chronometer status until 2007. Despite its vintage appearance it benefits from many of the modern developments, such as the sapphire crystal, white gold marker surrounds for its Luminova markers which, thanks to not being tritium, retain their white appearance.
This example is presented in excellent condition having just been recently serviced and polished, with a full set of papers and an original box. The perfect Submariner - reliable and with all the bells and whistles you could want, but just enough history and character to offer continued interest every day.
