The Black Bay 36 range, in our opinion, is one of the most underrated, yet capable, watches on the market. Incredible value, competency, build quality and an elegant design that still retains hints of Tudor’s tool-watch credentials.
Very reminiscent of a Rolex Explorer or Datejust in terms of case design, it’s clear Tudor and Rolex are cut from the same cloth at the outset. Tudor’s reputation for chunky slab cases is nowhere to be seen here with the case only coming in a touch over 10mm in thickness - so incredibly comfortable. Featuring a polished smooth finish predominantly, but complemented with a brush-finished Oyster-style bracelet, this Tudor has all the sophistication you could want without screaming flash from the rooftops.
Inside is a solid ETA 2824 movement, regulated to COSC standards but not put through certification so you are getting heaps of credibility in a mechanical watch. The dial is perhaps our favourite point, featuring just enough print and text to be interesting but not the clutter many watches suffer from today. Specifically, the “Rotor Self-Winding” print at the bottom with the so-called “smiley-face” callback to Tudors of yesteryear is a highlight of this design.
All of this packaged in a full set with nearly 3 years of the remaining Tudor warranty, in very good condition throughout! This is a hell of a lot of watch in one place, don’t miss it…
