The Reverso was born in 1930 when businessman César de Trey needed a solution to protect the watches worn by polo players during matches. His solution? A reversible watch case you could flip over so that the front was against your wrist and the much more resilient case back would be exposed instead. (Sound familiar?)
Thankfully, he had a good friend called Jacques-David LeCoultre to help to produce the watch, with French industrial engineer René-Alfred Chauvot engaged through this relationship to design the watch - the rest is history…
This example is not from 1930, but 2000, a more modern take on the earlier 1930’s designs and one that is very true and respectful of its origins. An 18k yellow gold case (with a clean case back simply BEGGING for a cool engraving) and in stunning condition having recently been serviced, complete with its original paperwork and our 3 month warranty. What are you waiting for?
