Tudor’s most interesting period in history is of course the “identity crisis” phase where the brand began to forge its own identity but was still holding onto its links to The Crown. This Prince Oysterdate (the Tudor answer to Rolex’s Oyster Perpetual Date or Datejusts) exudes Rolex throughout.

Aside from the Tudor-signed gold dial, almost every other part rings of or mentions Rolex, right down to the Rolex logo on the crown and the Oyster case aptly engraved on the back “original oyster case by Rolex”.

Overall the condition is excellent and honest for 33-year-old watch, however the true beauty shines in the jubilee-style bracelet which features yellow gold-plated centre links which all have complete plating still. On its own that doesn’t sound like much, but try and find another example and you will see the gold plating has worn off in areas, often to a truly horrendous level.

This is one of the best-value vintage watches you are likely to come across, in the Channel Islands or in the world! With pedigree by the bucketload and a wealth of juicy watch history, what more could you want?
